While there are of course some similarities between these two products – the most obvious being the fact that they are both extracted from the hemp plant – there are some crucial differences. The most significant difference is the part of the plant the oil is extracted from.

Hemp oils are typically extracted from the seeds of the plant which contain little to no CBD. As a result, hemp oils (also called hemp seed oils) generally contain no more than trace amounts of CBD. In contrast, CBD oils are extracted from the CBD-rich flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. Similarly, Broad-Spectrum CBD Oils contain CBD in addition to various other cannabinoids and terpenes, but with THC removed.
